Certified Life Coach

What is a Life Coach?

Life coaching differs from career coaching in that it takes a broad and holistic view of a person’s life goals, whether these be to improve their relationships, finances, health, self-esteem or just to find time to rekindle a hobby or something they’ve always been passionate about.

Life coaching is not the same as therapy or counselling. You don’t need to have a problem to seek the services of a life coach, although some people do. Life coaching is about helping individuals find their own solutions, their own path to goal achievement.

Why train to be a life coach?

There has never been a better time to become a life coach. Personal development services are one of the fastest growing business areas of modern times. With the rapid rate of change and the rise of emotional intelligence rather than technical competence becoming increasingly important determinants of success, more and more individuals are investing in their personal development and using life-coaching services.

Increasing numbers of organisations are also embracing life coaching services. At the 2003 Human Resources Institute conference in New Zealand , increasing numbers of organisations reported investing in holistic services that help their employees achieve greater work/life balance, self-esteem and wellness, realising large returns on investment in terms of greater productivity, increased retention of key staff and reduced levels of stress.
